John is a commercial real estate professional with extensive experience on both the banking and ownership side. He has spent the last seven years of his career working in lending, during which time he has originated over $1.5 billion in loan volume totaling over 450 closed transactions. John’s experience ranges across all asset classes, and has helped clients close deals in retail, industrial, self-storage, office, and multifamily. Prior to that, John spent five years working for a mortgage and credit fund in NYC, analyzing and restructuring defaulted loans as a result of the 2008 financial crisis. He also has invested personally in numerous apartment, retail, storage, and student housing deals. He started his career working for SOM in New York, focusing on offices.
John was raised in New York and lived in the city for 12 years after college, prior to living in Newport with his wife and daughter.

John has a MS in Real Estate Finance from NYU, and a MArch and BS in Architecture from Catholic University in Washington, DC
