BACKGROUND

Gilda Rivera boasts almost 25 years of experience as a commercial real estate finance veteran. She has extensive experience in structuring transactions across the capital stack, including non-recourse senior and stretch senior debt, recapitalization financings applying senior, mezzanine, preferred equity, and joint venture for ground-up construction and development, value-add and stabilized assets for all property types across the United States. Currently, she serves as Senior Vice President of Slatt Capital, advising real estate sponsors on debt and equity capital placement. She utilizes her exceptional lender relationships to provide certainty of execution and creative financings for her clients.

Prior to joining Slatt Capital, Gilda was a Senior Director for more than 18 years at George Smith Partners, a boutique real estate capital markets advisory firm based in Los Angeles. During her tenure at George Smith Partners, Ms. Rivera was involved in complex transactions, facilitating, arranging, structuring, underwriting, and closing several billion dollars in commercial real estate financing. She maintains close personal relationships with decision-makers at the highest levels in the financial industry and closed transactions with every type of capital provider, including Banks, Insurance Companies, CMBS, Credit Unions, Family Offices, Private Equity Firms, REIT, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Foundations & Endowments, and Agencies.

Prior to George Smith Partners, Ms. Rivera was an Assistant Vice President and served as an analyst and underwriter for Washington Mutual Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) for three years, closing over $2 billion for the firm’s “on-book” multi-family & commercial real estate loans and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).

Ms. Rivera received the "Women of Influence" award from GlobeSt. in 2020, based on her career achievements, community outreach, and mentorship within the commercial real estate industry.
